What We Do
The Carlisle Area Sertoma club is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit service club. Our members are service-oriented volunteers who have a passion to have FUN while raising funds to give back to the community.
From the scholarships we provide in hope of filling the growing needs of our future Audiologists and Speech Pathologists, to giving away the free fire alarms with bed shakers that save the lives of those who are unable to hear a fire alarm when sleeping, our Carlisle Area Sertoma club members and supporters make a big difference in our community.
Our FUNdraisers include selling Crab Cakes three times a year, Pancake Breakfasts, and our annual Golf Tournament that is held each August. We use these funds to support our various sponsorship programs such as:
- Scholarships for local High School Students
- FREE fire alarms for Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Donations to other non-profit organizations
- Baseball Camp for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth (ages 5-15)
- Portable Info Loop technology to UPMC and Bosler Library
- Personal hearing amplifiers to those who can’t afford hearing aids
- Support of our local first responders
- General service projects as requested
